New Building Supervision
Presence in the yard, from steel cutting to delivery
Our supervision teams live inside the construction process — verifying workmanship, materials, systems and documentation against the contract, the specification and class requirements every single day.
A newbuilding project is decided long before delivery: in the choice of yard, the clarity of the specification, and the quality of the people watching the work.
Risk Design International supports owners from the earliest project phase. We evaluate candidate shipyards on technical capability, capacity, subcontractor use and quality culture, then review the shipbuilding contract and technical specification so that the obligations you are signing are the obligations you intend.
Once the contract is in force, we build the site team around the vessel: a site manager supported by hull, machinery, electrical, coating and commissioning specialists. The team attends plan approval, inspects at the workshop and block stage, witnesses tests and trials, tracks non-conformities to close-out, and reports progress and risk to the owner weekly.
Our reporting is designed to be used. Structured non-conformance registers, photographic evidence, milestone verification and payment-instalment review give owners a defensible technical record for every discussion with the shipyard — and a vessel that starts its trading life without inherited defects.
Tell us about the vessel, the yard and the timeline — we’ll propose the right team.
